If you want to begin a new chapter in your life journey and make a difference in the lives of others and their families, becoming a Hospice Volunteer will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Becoming a hospice volunteer will bring blessings, joy, sorrow, and love to your life. You have taken the first step in this exceptional journey by expressing your desire to become a volunteer.
Hospice of Cumberland County commits to the following:
· To provide adequate information and training so you may meet the expectations as described in your volunteer role description.
1) Administrative Volunteer
2) Community Event Volunteer
3) Cumberland House Volunteer
4) Patient Companion Volunteer
· To explain what is required of you and to support and provide encouragement to help you achieve the desired results.
· To treat you with respect and courtesy at all times.
· To be receptive to any comments and feedback from all our volunteers.
· To value and recognize our volunteers as a significant resource in achieving the goals of our organization.
The Volunteer commits to the following:
· Maintain client, patients, and agency confidentiality at all times
· To perform my volunteer role to the best of my ability.
· To follow the organization’s policies and procedures.
· To meet time and task commitments and to provide sufficient notice when not available.
· To act in a way that is in line with organizations mission and enhances the work of the organization.
· Conduct myself in a responsible and professional manner whenever providing HCC volunteer services.
· Be respectful to patients, families, community members and partners, other volunteers, and HCC staff
· Complete all required training and any additional training as it is assigned to me.
